About the role

  • Electronics engineer training and evaluating frontier AI models on realistic circuit and system-level problems. Creating technical assignments and critiquing AI-generated engineering reasoning.

Responsibilities

  • Train and evaluate frontier AI models on realistic circuit- and system-level engineering problems
  • Design challenging electronics engineering problems based on practical experience
  • Create problems involving circuit specification, signal-chain debugging, analog circuit analysis, and power-stage sizing
  • Author supporting files including schematics, simulation setups, datasheets, measurement data, and design calculations
  • Run engineering problems through frontier AI models and evaluate outputs against professional engineering standards
  • Compare model versions using identical prompts and document their strengths and limitations
  • Critique model-generated derivations, component selections, topologies, and calculations with detailed written rationale
  • Identify and document technical failures, including incorrect assumptions, sign and unit errors, unphysical results, invalid topologies, fabricated datasheet values, and misread plots
  • Apply expertise across analog circuits, electronic devices and materials, RF, photonics, and signal processing
  • Distinguish technically sound reasoning from plausible but incorrect AI-generated answers

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of industry experience in electronics engineering, circuit design, or related fields
  • Current or recent experience performing technical work as an individual contributor
  • In-progress Bachelor's degree or higher in electronics engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Strong command of circuit analysis, electronic devices, and design tradeoffs
  • Ability to defend component-level decisions
  • Fluency with SPICE, schematic capture, PCB tools, lab instruments, MATLAB, and Python
  • Strong written communication and ability to explain precisely why a technical answer is incorrect
  • Professional or native-level English
  • General familiarity with AI and LLM tools, or ability to learn them quickly
  • Location in the United States, Canada, the UK, Australia, Ireland, or New Zealand
  • Availability for at least 10 hours per week

Benefits

  • Fully remote, project-based contract work with the ability to choose projects and work times
  • Compensation of $40–$120 USD per hour
  • Bonus rates available on some projects
  • Access to Claude and ChatGPT provided, with no personal subscriptions required
  • Flexible multi-day task timers
