About the role
- Senior Financial Analyst owning forecasts, financial models, and executive reporting for Samsara’s IoT-powered connected operations platform. Partnering across Finance, Strategy, and Systems to improve planning accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Support the monthly and quarterly corporate forecasting process and annual operating planning cycle
- Own and communicate the Finance forecast calendar
- Collaborate across Finance & Strategy teams to drive forecast accuracy
- Publish monthly forecast and reporting packages with key business metrics, P&L, and headcount
- Highlight risks and opportunities
- Own consolidated income statement, cash flow, and balance sheet forecasts
- Partner with the Finance Systems team to maintain financial planning tools
- Support development of Samsara’s AI-driven financial data and systems landscape
- Drive the long-range planning process and model
- Align the financial model with strategic priorities and key business assumptions
- Lead preparation of board of directors materials, executive leadership financial reviews, and CFO financial reporting
- Act as a cross-functional liaison to drive stakeholder alignment and implementation of changes across teams and systems
- Support ad hoc reporting and analysis for business decision-making
- Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally and across new offices
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in Strategic Finance or FP&A
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Strong financial modeling and analysis capabilities
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
- PowerPoint / Google Slides skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, often changing environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to senior management
- Proactive and highly organized self-starter, able to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity about applying AI to finance processes
- Track record of delivering iterative improvements and measurable outcomes
- Industry experience in SaaS-based technology companies preferred
- Proficiency with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Glean, and Cursor
- Proficiency with Databricks
- Proficiency with FP&A tools such as Workday Adaptive Planning or similar planning systems and NetSuite
