About the role
- Machine Operator setting up CNC and manual equipment to produce aerospace components. Inspecting quality, troubleshooting processes, and maintaining production records and 5S standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate at least one production process using CNC or manually controlled equipment
- Perform problem solving and troubleshoot production/process issues to meet required standards
- Maintain responsibility for the quality and quantity of work produced
- Routinely check processes and machines for basic maintenance and take corrective action promptly
- Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment
- Accurately record data in routers, IMS and other production tracking systems
- Train other operators as needed
- Work in other departments or occasionally set up machines for other operators
- Read and interpret production prints
- Access production procedures using computer systems
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S standards
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma
- Equivalent machining background or mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret production prints
- Adequate computer skills to access production procedures
- Ability to set up and operate CNC or manually controlled equipment
- Ability to perform problem solving and troubleshoot production/process issues
- Ability to inspect work using precision measuring equipment
- Ability to accurately record data in routers, IMS and other production tracking systems
- Ability to train other operators as needed
- Must be able to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment and criminal background check
- Must be compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Temporary residents/international students require Canadian government export-controlled-goods exemptions, which may take a minimum of 2 months to process
