About the role
- Lead analytics engineer scaling analytics platforms for PlayStation game studios. Building performant data models and telemetry solutions for Sony’s console games.
Responsibilities
- Work in a cross-disciplinary engineering team to scale the analytics platform
- Expand the platform’s reach and help define and build the future of analytics for PlayStation games
- Work on new title launches during the first six months
- Build data models to ensure efficient and consistent queries
- Work directly with game studios and data analysts to design and validate suitable in-game telemetry
- Help expand the use of technologies such as dbt and Airflow
- Own data models for specific games
- Collaborate with Game Analytics team members and game studio colleagues to ensure consistency and performance
Requirements
- Adept at writing SQL on analytics (OLAP) databases, preferably Redshift or similar databases
- Experience implementing and using data modelling tools such as dbt or SQLMesh
- Experience transforming business needs into data model requirements and solutions
- Interest in Big Data projects and technology
- Commitment to quality and interest in repeatable, testable, destructible, test-driven database development
- Degree in Computer Science is a bonus, not required
- Bonus experience with Python, AWS Glue, source control (Git, Liquibase), and Airflow
- Familiarity with AAA game development and modern console games is a bonus
- Background in data or analytics engineering
