About the role
- Quality Assurance Engineer testing Speer Technologies’ innovative software products. Creating automated tests, tracking bugs, and improving development quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual and virtual testing on a variety of devices
- Document test results for the software development team
- Create tests to identify software problems
- Motivate the development process for performance and efficiency
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry advancements and trends
- Work alongside software developers to improve and enhance programs
- Analyze errors and bugs found during tests
- Research and compare similar competitor products
- Review specifications, requirements, and technical design documents
- Investigate causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
- Estimate, plan, prioritize, and coordinate testing activities
- Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools
- Identify, record, document, and track bugs
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
- Communicate with internal teams to identify system requirements
- Monitor debugging process results
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Basic JavaScript skills
- Familiarity with Git
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
- Experience writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools like Cypress
- Good knowledge of database systems and scripting
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Experience with performance and/or security testing
- French fluency is an asset
- French is not required
