About the role
- Transportation Engineering Intern contributing to roadway, transit, rail, and bridge projects at Stantec. Gaining hands-on experience while supporting design and engineering tasks within a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- With guidance, perform geometric design and 3D modeling
- Support development of design plans and assist with preparation of technical specifications and quantity estimates as required
- Assist with the preparation of engineering reports and technical studies, including basic calculations
- Coordinate with other disciplines including structural, geotechnical, stormwater and streetlighting to ensure interdisciplinary design integration
- Additional duties may include assisting with project coordination, field work and proposal preparation
Requirements
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a team environment
- Basic understanding of general civil design concepts in relevant areas
- Basic understanding of software such as AutoCAD or Synchro would be considered an asset
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters Engineering program
