About the role

  • Part-time Academic Instructor for EDUC 469 Woodworking course at St. Francis Xavier University. Engaging junior high students with hands-on teaching strategies in woodworking techniques.

Responsibilities

  • This course will be an introduction to strategies and methods useful in teaching Wood Production Lab at the junior high level.
  • The practical, hands-on emphasis of the public-school technology program will be mirrored in this course.
  • The focus will be on the outcomes as outlined in the Nova Scotia Technology Curriculum document and will examine activities suitable for students in grades seven to nine.
  • Students are expected to participate in interactive classes and labs where they will practice the required skills necessary to facilitate learning in Wood Production Labs in Nova Scotia schools.
