About the role
- Software Engineer building Metronome infrastructure at Stripe, a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Designing distributed systems and shipping business-critical billing and revenue automation features.
Responsibilities
- Shape and build a suite of products that lets users model and operate their businesses more efficiently
- Design, build, test, and ship code every day across technologies, systems, and processes
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, design, and operations experts
- Build business-critical internal and external features powering Stripe users worldwide
- Design the next generation of Stripe products for the high-growth needs of the company and customers
- Deliver value through a collaborative, user-first approach with stakeholders and customers
- Mentor engineers to help them grow
- Debug and solve critical production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
Requirements
- 2–12+ years of experience in backend software development
- Ability to write high-quality code in programming languages such as Go, Java, C/C++, etc.
- Hands-on experience contributing to or building large-scale distributed systems
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across work streams and contribute to peers' success
- Ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, with an entrepreneurial mindset
