About the role

  • Student analyst supporting Sun Life Canada’s financial reporting, competitive insights, and executive materials. Building Excel, PowerPoint, financial analysis, and process improvement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support quarterly external reporting deliverables for Sun Life Canada, including analytics, process support, MD&A, news release, and supplement inputs
  • Assist with quarterly internal reporting deliverables, including the Sun Life Canada Board Report, CFO presentation, and President’s message
  • Contribute to quarterly competitive insights by reviewing peer performance, identifying key themes and trends, and preparing concise summaries for senior leaders
  • Prepare clear, polished PowerPoint presentations, supporting Excel files, briefing notes, and concise business insights for executive and leadership audiences
  • Identify and support improvements to recurring deliverables, processes, automation, and Management Insights team tools
  • Gain exposure to business units and enablement functions across Sun Life Canada
  • Report to the Director, Management Insights

Requirements

  • Graduation date of April 2027 or later
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program focused on finance, accounting, business, or a related field
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • High attention to detail and strong organization skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Ability to absorb information on a variety of financial and non-financial topics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to reconcile information across multiple sources and identify key insights
  • Proactive, curious, and collaborative mindset
  • Comfortable asking questions, learning new processes, and building relationships across teams
