- Student software engineer developing and testing APIs for Sun Life’s Group Benefits and Retirement Services technology. Supporting Agile Scrum delivery, documentation, and modern cloud development tools.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development, testing, and deployment of APIs under the guidance of a Senior Engineer
- Assist in gathering functional requirements
- Help develop technical specifications and test plans with internal team members and external partners
- Support system or project documentation
- Work in a cross-functional Agile Scrum team
- Build tools that provide simple and flexible ways to connect with Group Benefits or Group Retirement Services
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a relevant technology program, such as Computer Science or Engineering
- Graduation date of April 2027 or later
- Enthusiasm, professionalism, and willingness to learn
- Fast learner with a keen interest in picking up new technologies
- Strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of an object-oriented programming language such as C# or Java
- Familiarity with Microsoft .NET Core, .NET, or Java Spring Boot framework
- Familiarity with SQL for relational or NoSQL databases
