About the role
- Senior Backend Engineer building scalable APIs and services for NimbleRx’s pharmacy fulfillment and patient engagement platform. Architecting reliable web products for patients, pharmacies, and healthcare customers.
Responsibilities
- Architect technology and customer experiences for multiple NimbleRx web products
- Build scalable platforms, APIs, and services
- Own backend features from design through implementation and release
- Collaborate with developers, Product Management, and Design to understand requirements and use cases
- Deliver high-quality code on time
- Mentor junior engineers and interns
- Promote best practices and high-quality development techniques
- Solve complex design and technical problems
- Improve system usability and performance
- Lead engineering processes across planning, design, delivery, and maintenance
Requirements
- Current Canadian work authorization is strongly preferred
- 5+ years of experience with backend APIs, services, and platform development
- Rich development experience with Java, Spring, and SQL
- Experience developing scalable, customer-facing, web-based applications
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with React, Terraform/Terragrunt, or AWS is nice to have
- Ability to test own code and review teammates’ code
- Ability to own complex projects end-to-end with minimal guidance
- Ability to take a leadership or driver role throughout planning, design, delivery, and maintenance
