About the role

Data Engineer designing and implementing solutions for Skip’s Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to innovate data solutions for a global online delivery platform.

Responsibilities

Design and implementation of software for systems that power Skip’s Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse.
Drive the innovation of Skip’s platform by improving the reliability, performance, and scalability of the network.
Integrate GPS tracking, real-time order processing, scheduling, and balancing into Skip’s world-class service.
Be a key developer on the DBT (data build tool) project, creating modular, tested, and documented data models using SQL and Jinja.
Transform data within the data warehouse to create clean, well-structured datasets for various use cases, including reporting, analysis, and machine learning.
Investigate and resolve data-related issues, proactively identifying patterns and trends to prevent future problems.

3+ years experience in developing big data pipelines, data warehouses, and/or software engineering
Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL.
Experience working with multiple cloud platforms preferably Google Cloud Platform.
Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL.
Strong in Dimensional Modeling concepts applying Kimball techniques.
Implement and champion data quality, integrity, and governance throughout the data lifecycle.
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, data analysts, product managers, and software engineers to understand their data requirements and ensure data solutions meet business needs.
Use software engineering best practices such as version control (Git), modularity, and CI/CD principles.
