Responsibilities
Define and execute the editorial vision for the Intelligence Unit
Identify and prioritize major national issues for investigation each year
Build and manage a network of external experts, contributors and advisors
Lead a multidisciplinary editorial team across print, digital, video, audio and live events
Commission and oversee deep reporting, analysis and explanatory journalism
Examine causes, consequences and potential solutions to major national challenges
Collaborate with reporters, data journalists, product, audience and design teams
Ensure accuracy, fairness and editorial integrity
Represent The Globe in public-facing events
Requirements
At least five years of editorial leadership experience in a national or major newsroom
Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex projects
Strong news judgment and deep understanding of Canadian public affairs
Experience working across multiple formats and platforms
Ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas clearly
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort building new editorial products
