About the role

  • Loss Prevention Store Investigator protecting TJX Canada’s Surrey Winners stores from theft, fraud, and organized retail crime. Conducting surveillance, apprehensions, investigations, and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Deter, detect, and apprehend individuals attempting to commit theft and fraud
  • Facilitate civil and criminal prosecution
  • Report incidents and collaborate with police
  • Attend court as required
  • Use CCTV equipment and conduct floor walking for store surveillance
  • Investigate and report external losses from repeat offenders and organized groups with Organized Retail Crime Investigators
  • Report internal dishonesty to Regional Internal Investigators
  • Support Supply-chain Investigators on potential supply chain losses
  • Collaborate with Loss Prevention Remote Investigators to identify and report external incidents to law enforcement
  • Support District Loss Prevention Managers by reporting possible shrink opportunities
  • Report directly to a Store Investigation’s Supervisor within the Loss Prevention department
  • Potentially support multiple stores and/or markets

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Law and Security/Loss Prevention Diploma preferred
  • Relevant experience in Retail Loss Prevention, Military, Security, or Law Enforcement encouraged
  • Provincial security license required
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Access to a vehicle preferred
  • Good driving record preferred
  • Strong understanding of the Criminal Code and its application to retail crimes
  • Candidates aged 18 and over must undergo a criminal record check as part of the hiring process
