About the role

Senior Fullstack Engineer owning end-to-end product features at Bree, a Canadian consumer finance platform. Building reliable TypeScript, Node.js, AWS serverless, and React Native systems.

Responsibilities

Own the full lifecycle of features, including discovery, technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, monitoring, and follow-up.
Work across the TypeScript and Node.js serverless backend, including Lambda, API Gateway, and SQS, as well as the React Native application.
Make architectural decisions about service boundaries, data ownership, and when to refactor versus extend existing systems.
Instrument shipped features and maintain stability without slowing releases.
Use Codex, Cursor, and Claude Code to accelerate development while maintaining correctness, testing, and quality.
Mentor engineers through technical design, code review, and cross-stack collaboration.
Collaborate directly with Product, Design, CX, Operations, and other engineers to understand problems, shape solutions, make technical decisions, and own outcomes after release.

Proven experience shipping customer-facing products end to end, with meaningful technical and architectural ownership.
An AI-native development approach using tools such as Claude Code and Cursor throughout planning, implementation, debugging, testing, and review, while validating and owning the result.
Expert-level TypeScript.
Fluency in Node, React/React Native, REST/GraphQL.
Real AWS serverless experience with Lambda and SQS, or equivalent event-driven systems.
Track record refactoring or modernizing existing systems, not just greenfield.
Pragmatic testing with Jest, RNTL, and Detox wired into CI.
Strong product judgment and clear, even-keeled communication.
Nice to have: experience building financial products, payment systems, or other regulated software.
Nice to have: Infrastructure as Code experience with Pulumi or Terraform.
Nice to have: mobile release experience, including TestFlight, Google Play, or over-the-air updates.
