Associate Director advancing UJA Toronto’s nonprofit fundraising through donor analytics, predictive modeling, and prospect intelligence. Leading data strategy, pipeline development, and a two-person analytics team.
Responsibilities
Own and evolve UJA’s end-to-end donor intelligence ecosystem, including analytics strategy, prospect identification, data governance, and performance measurement
Serve as the strategic operational lead alongside the Senior Director of Data, Analytics and Reporting
Act as delegate to the Senior Director when needed and represent the function to senior leadership
Translate donor intelligence into fundraising strategy, influencing campaign planning, gift officer deployment, portfolio design, and solicitation priorities
Present insights, strategic recommendations, and performance reporting to executive leadership and key stakeholders
Champion a data-driven culture across the Integrated Development division
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of two direct reports
Lead cross-functional initiatives with Research, IT/Salesforce, Marketing, and frontline fundraising teams
Build partnerships with senior fundraisers and division leaders on donor strategy, capacity analysis, and prospect prioritization
Establish standards, workflows, and best practices for the function
Design and own predictive models, donor scoring methodologies, and segmentation strategies
Develop and maintain executive-level dashboards and reporting
Deliver portfolio and capacity analysis to optimize fundraiser assignments and identify upgrade and re-engagement opportunities
Establish KPIs and success metrics for the donor intelligence function
Evaluate and implement AI and automation technologies
Establish and enforce data quality standards and governance practices
Set the strategic direction for prospect research and identification
Oversee research profiles, briefings, and due diligence for senior fundraisers
Drive prospect identification through wealth screening, data mining, predictive analytics, and community network analysis
Develop and refine prospecting policies, processes, and frameworks
Requirements
Relevant education or equivalent experience
7+ years of progressive experience in fundraising analytics, prospect research, data strategy, or nonprofit development, with increasing strategic leadership responsibility
3+ years of experience managing, mentoring, and developing staff
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence beyond direct reports
Commitment to UJA’s mission, values, and goals
Proven track record of driving fundraising outcomes through data and influencing organizational decisions
Expertise in predictive modeling, donor scoring, portfolio segmentation, and performance measurement frameworks
Proficiency with CRM systems; Salesforce preferred
Experience working with large, complex datasets
Understanding of AI and emerging technologies, with experience implementing tools that drive efficiency and strategic advantage
Executive-level communication and presentation skills
Familiarity with donor intelligence and wealth screening platforms such as iWave or similar tools
Engagement with, and/or familiarity with, groups, networks, or organizations in the Jewish community
Strong project management skills
High degree of discretion, confidentiality, and respect for donor privacy
