Responsibilities
Provide consultations to instructors and instructional teams on course design, delivery, instructional technologies, and learning environments
Support the design of accessible, effective, and evidence-informed learning experiences aligned with the Framework for Effective Teaching
Develop and maintain accessible instructional resources for instructors across experience levels
Collaborate with Centre for Teaching and Learning colleagues and university partners to align resources with institutional priorities
Design and deliver professional learning, workshops, and other learning opportunities
Tailor programming to diverse audiences, disciplines, career stages, and teaching contexts, including in-person, online, and blended environments
Apply evidence-informed approaches and adult learning principles to programming design and delivery
Develop customized and team-based learning opportunities
Evaluate programming using participant feedback and other evidence for continuous improvement
Develop quarterly portfolio plans aligned with CTL annual goals and strategic priorities
Contribute to CTL committees, operational activities, and unit-wide initiatives
Maintain and develop expertise in instructional design, pedagogy, educational technologies, and emerging post-secondary teaching and learning developments
Respond to emerging institutional and teaching and learning priorities through specialized educational development activities and strategic initiatives
Undertake other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Undergraduate degree in educational technology, adult education, or a related field required
Minimum 3 years of experience in instructional design
Demonstrated effectiveness as a facilitator/instructor in the post-secondary context
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models, including ADDIE and backward design
Proven knowledge of evidence-based pedagogical approaches and learner-centred teaching practices
Proficiency integrating digital learning tools and technologies into diverse learning environments
Commitment to accessible and inclusive teaching
Exceptional consultative and communication skills
Ability to build trust, influence, and engage stakeholders
Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and adapt communication styles to different audiences and learners
Ability to work independently and in a team environment with respect, dignity, and integrity
Experience providing client-centred services and programming within a post-secondary environment
Ability to listen actively, seek advice, and contribute insights and new ideas
Ability to prioritize competing demands, meet deadlines, and complete detail-oriented work in a fast-paced environment
