Research Assistant supporting ongoing research on Métis older adults' care needs within Aged Care Transition program at University of Alberta.
Responsibilities
Assist with recruitment of participants for interviews & facilitate interviews
Complete a demographic survey for the qualitative data collection
Assist with quantitative descriptive analyses & thematic analyses
Assist with preparing feedback reports & drafting manuscripts
Assist with administrative tasks such as managing CVs and resumes, organizing files and folders, formatting result tables, and managing references for reviews
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as: nursing, sociology, political science, women’s studies, Indigenous studies, community health or public health
Training in qualitative and/or quantitative social or health science research methods
Experience with social/health sciences research projects
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent writing ability
Excellent computer skills using MS word, Excel, Office, and Internet applications
Sensitivity to ethical issues
Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
Must be eligible to work in Canada
A background in nursing or other health sciences programs (asset)
Previous working experiences on research projects involving indigenous organizations (asset)
Experience with qualitative, quantitative, or indigenous research methods (asset)
Experience with Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) (asset)
