Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze security systems, networks, and applications to detect and mitigate threats.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and resolve security weaknesses.
Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including analyzing root causes and implementing solutions.
Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.
Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
Provide guidance and training to employees on cybersecurity best practices.
Stay updated on the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to strengthen defenses.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Master’s program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and threat analysis.
Experience with cybersecurity tools, such as SIEM platforms, firewalls, and vulnerability management tools.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and cybersecurity frameworks applicable to Canada.
Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls is a strong asset.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or other relevant credentials are a plus.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
