About the role
- UI/UX Designer developing engaging interfaces for WallStreetBets mobile app and website. Focused on creating intuitive experiences for retail traders in a fintech environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design process from conceptualization to hand-off, creating user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes for both web and mobile applications.
- Build world class real-time market data tools (charts, option chains, heatmaps) that are intuitive, actionable, and visually stunning.
- Collaborate with users to understand the unique behaviors of the retail trader. Conduct usability testing to validate design decisions and iterate based on community feedback.
- Build and maintain a scalable design system that ensures consistency across our products while allowing for rapid iteration by the engineering team.
- Work closely with the Engineering team to ensure design feasibility and proper implementation, advocating for the user at every stage of development.
- Design engaging features that reward user participation and community interaction, blending social media dynamics with financial tools.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, ideally within fintech, trading platforms, or high-traffic consumer social apps.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a mastery of typography, color theory, layout, and, most importantly, complex data visualization and mobile-first design.
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma (our primary tool).
- A deep understanding of user-centered design principles (UCD) and the ability to defend your design choices with data and logic.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote, global environment.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment where priorities can shift quickly.
