About the role
- Senior Designer leading Wealthfront's 'Vested Interest' editorial visuals about economic news and personal finance. Creating weekly headers, charts, composites, and illustrations across digital, video, and social channels.
Responsibilities
- Lead the visual direction and executions for Wealthfront's 'Vested Interest' editorial program
- Create timely content connecting macroeconomic news with personal finance goals
- Collaborate with the content team to ideate and deliver weekly visual assets
- Produce headers, charts, photo composites, and illustrations for financial topics
- Lead editorial executions with understanding of audience and business objectives
- Build relationships with editorial and marketing teams to streamline collaboration
- Contribute to and refine strategic insights in the creative development process
- Deliver exceptional design craft balancing expressiveness, clarity, and scalability
- Review early drafts and research materials to develop informed perspectives
- Share creative knowledge and craft skills with teammates
- Ideate and produce assets from concept to delivery while incorporating stakeholder feedback
- Deliver multiple strategic directions each week
- Drive ambiguous financial concepts from concept to execution
- Evolve brand expressions and maintain brand consistency
- Adapt visual executions and messages across media channels
Requirements
- 3+ years as a visual designer in an agency, studio, or in-house creative team
- Experience working collaboratively on a timely content program with a recurring cadence
- Strong background and passion for digital creative foundations, including layout, typography, and color
- Experience with experimental production, including collage, 3D, illustration, and AI
- Experience adapting consistent visual expressions across digital, video, and social channels
- Ability to understand audiences and business objectives
- Ability to develop informed perspectives from drafts and research materials
- Ability to balance expressiveness with clarity and scalability
- Ability to incorporate stakeholder feedback effectively
- Bonus: Direct experience working with a content team
- Bonus: Technical motion production skills with After Effects or a similar program
- Bonus: Effective usage of AI to illustrate concepts or final assets
