About the role
- Freelance linguist translating clinical, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance documents into Spanish (LatAm). Supporting Welo Life Sciences’ regulated-market translation and localization services.
Responsibilities
- Translate clinical research, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance documents from English to Spanish (LatAm)
- Perform Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) on machine-translated safety content
- Copy edit translated and post-edited content for accuracy, tone, and consistency
- Meet strict, non-extendable turnaround times for time-sensitive content
- Work within the client's CAT tool environment (XTM/Phrase)
- Use Track Changes in Microsoft Word according to project-specific setup instructions
- Translate clinical research documents such as protocols, synopses, IB, ICF, patient sheets, and patient diaries
- Translate regulatory documents such as SmPC, PIL, labels, and CTD modules
- Translate pharmacovigilance documents such as PSUR, DSUR, RMP, SAE, and AE
Requirements
- Experienced English into Spanish (LatAm) linguist specializing in clinical-trial, pharmacovigilance, and regulatory document translation
- Applicant must meet at least one of the following: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies (or equivalent); a recognized graduate qualification in another field plus at least two years of full-time professional translation experience; or at least five years of full-time professional translation experience
- At least two years of practical translation experience specifically with life sciences (clinical trials and pharmacovigilance) and medical documents
- Familiarity with CAT tools (XTM/Phrase)
- Familiarity with Track Changes in Microsoft Word
- Willingness to complete an assessment as part of onboarding and quality procedures
- Latest English CV must reflect Life Sciences and Medical translation experience, years of Life Sciences experience, translated document types, CAT tools used, and contact information including email and phone number
