About the role
- Business Systems Analyst (Payments Domain) needed for a 6-12 month contract in Toronto. Must have 7+ years BSA experience in financial services.
Responsibilities
- Translate complex business requirements into functional & technical specifications; analyze end-to-end payment flows including initiation, settlement, reconciliation & exception handling; prepare BRDs, FSDs, user stories, process flows, sequence diagrams & data mappings; collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Developers & Operations teams; support API integrations, payment rails & downstream banking systems; work within Agile/Scrum delivery teams; support QA/UAT activities, defect triage & release planning; ensure compliance with regulatory, audit & risk requirements.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a BSA in Financial Services or Technology environments; strong expertise in Interac eTransfer, Domestic Payments & Cash Management Solutions; deep understanding of Canadian Payments Ecosystem & settlement lifecycle; hands-on experience with REST APIs, JSON, SQL & System Integration patterns; experience with event-driven or message-based architectures; strong Agile/Scrum delivery experience; excellent communication & stakeholder management skills.
