About the role
- Senior Data Architect contract with Government of Alberta, designing enterprise database solutions and performing risk assessments.
Responsibilities
- The Senior Data Architect will be responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and supporting enterprise solution databases in an environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta. This includes documenting legacy databases, performing threat and risk assessments, and applying enterprise architecture principles.
Requirements
- College or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field. 8+ years experience in enterprise database design, planning, implementation, and support; documenting legacy databases; enterprise architecture principles; and working as a Data Architect. 3+ years experience in threat and risk assessments. Nice to have: TOGAF certification, experience with architecture modeling tools (Power Designer, ER Studio, Er-win, BPwin, Rational Rose), Agile project management, cloud/big data platforms, BI products (Cognos, SQL Server, Power BI, MicroStrategy), SQL databases, SQL data warehouse, and Transact-SQL.
