About the role
- Hybrid Database Administrator needed for a global financial services firm to manage Oracle and cloud databases in downtown Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Oracle database environments, including backups, recovery, security, performance optimization, and high-availability solutions. Support 24/7 database operations during the North American time zone shift and assist with troubleshooting and major incident resolution. Collaborate with a distributed team of experienced DBAs to strengthen database reliability, scalability, automation, and operational best practices.
Requirements
- At least 4 to 5 years of database administration experience, with strong Oracle expertise and experience with either Oracle Exadata or Oracle Database Appliance. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL on AWS, database security, and Linux/Unix scripting. SQL Server, Data Guard, RAC, GoldenGate, and automation tools are considered assets. A relevant bachelor’s degree or technical qualification, plus either an Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate certification. AWS Cloud Practitioner or Associate certification is required or must be obtained within six months.
