About the role
- We are hiring a DataStage Talend Developer for a permanent, full-time hybrid position in Toronto, ON. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes.
Responsibilities
- The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ETL jobs using IBM DataStage and/or Talend, building reusable components and frameworks for data integration, optimizing ETL processes for performance and scalability, extracting, transforming, and loading data from multiple sources, handling structured and semi-structured data, implementing data validation, cleansing, and transformation rules, working on data warehousing concepts, supporting data marts and reporting systems, ensuring accurate and timely data availability for BI tools, analyzing job performance and optimizing ETL workflows, handling large data volumes efficiently, debugging and troubleshooting ETL failures, collaborating with business analysts, data architects, and developers, understanding data requirements and converting them into technical solutions, participating in agile development processes, documenting ETL processes, workflows, and data mappings, ensuring adherence to data governance and security standards, and maintaining version control and deployment processes.
Requirements
- Skilled DataStage and Talend Developer with strong experience in IBM DataStage (Parallel Jobs, Server Jobs) and Talend (Talend Open Studio / Talend Data Integration), strong SQL knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.), hands-on experience in ETL design and development, data modeling concepts, and experience with Unix/Linux scripting.
