About the role
- SOX Compliance Consultant needed for a hybrid contract in Downtown Toronto. Responsibilities include SOX testing, control documentation, and remediation support.
Responsibilities
- Review and assess SOX documentation, process narratives, risk and control matrices, and test scripts. Execute testing of design and operating effectiveness for key controls. Identify control deficiencies and support remediation activities. Prepare clear, accurate, and audit-ready documentation. Partner with finance, internal audit, and business stakeholders. Assist with control enhancements and process improvement initiatives. Provide status updates and reporting on testing progress and remediation efforts. Support compliance activities through year-end reporting cycles.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on SOX compliance and internal controls experience. Proven experience executing SOX testing independently. Experience with control documentation, walkthroughs, remediation, and audit support. Exceptional attention to detail and documentation quality. Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience with Workiva and Visio is highly preferred. Experience in mining, metals, manufacturing, or other complex public company environments is considered an asset. CPA, CIA, CISA, or related designation is an advantage.
