About the role

  • Technology Architect with 15+ years of IBM RACF experience for mainframe security administration. Onsite role in Toronto providing expert support, compliance, and mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level administration and operational support for IBM RACF within the client's mainframe environment. Analyze and resolve complex RACF security issues, including access violations, improper access denials, and audit findings. Implement SSL/TLS certificate renewals in the mainframe environment. Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities, including CRQs, implementation planning, and root cause analysis. Provide on-call Level 2 RACF support in a 24×7 mission-critical environment. Support RACF-related disaster recovery, business resumption planning, and annual contingency testing. Provide technical consultation, mentoring, and guidance to IAMP staff, ITS teams, and authorized ministry stakeholders. Ensure delivery of complete and up-to-date RACF documentation, including procedures, standards, runbooks, and knowledge transfer artifacts. Support and participate in knowledge transfer activities.

Requirements

  • 1. RACF Technical Expertise: 15+ years of hands-on experience with IBM RACF administration in z/OS mainframe environments. Proficiency with IBM zSecure suite for RACF auditing and automation. 2. Mainframe Systems Knowledge: Demonstrated experience supporting mainframe technology in a large-scale enterprise environment, comparable to the Government of Ontario. 10+ years of experience in complex projects involving installations, setups, migrations, and upgrades. Strong understanding of z/OS internals, TSO/ISPF, JCL, JES2/3, and general mainframe architecture. Experience with security maintenance utilities such as IRRUT200/IRRUT400, RLIST, and SETROPTS. 3. Security & Compliance: Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance frameworks such as SOX, PCI DSS, and HIPAA. Strong understanding of access control best practices and risk management. 4. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven ability to translate technical security risks into clear business impact insights.
