- Hands-on VP of Engineering to lead platform modernization, reliability, and security for a healthcare tech platform, guiding a ~40-person team.
Responsibilities
- This is a player-coach leadership opportunity where you’ll guide a ~40-person engineering organization while staying close enough to the architecture, codebase, and delivery process to drive meaningful change. The role focuses on modernizing an Azure-based .NET + React platform, improving engineering maturity, and building a stronger culture of accountability, quality, and operational excellence. What you’ll be leading: Platform modernization across .NET, React, and Azure; CI/CD maturity, release discipline, and engineering predictability; Automated testing, quality culture, and fewer production regressions; Observability, reliability, incident response, and MTTR improvement; SOC 2 readiness, HIPAA compliance, secure SDLC, and auditability; Leadership of distributed engineering teams across North America and offshore hubs.
Requirements
- 10+ years in software engineering; 5+ years in engineering leadership; Strong Azure cloud-native application experience; Experience modernizing legacy platforms while still shipping features; Healthcare, SaaS, regulated environments, HIPAA, SOC 2, or compliance-driven experience; Experience managing distributed/global teams is a strong plus.
