About the role

  • Staff AI engineer building production agent systems for 1Password’s sales and marketing teams. Creating secure, permission-aware intelligence, content, and deal-support workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Discover and define seller, product marketing, and campaign workflows through observation and direct conversations
  • Define agent runtime and application architecture covering context, state, tools, permissions, retrieval, evaluation, and human review
  • Design trusted knowledge flows for account, persona, product, competitive, and campaign information
  • Build routing and execution systems selecting appropriate tools, data sources, and specialist agents
  • Develop sales asset generation, campaign briefs, competitive responses, copy production, and active-deal field support capabilities
  • Integrate AI systems with Salesforce, Seismic, Gong, Notion, Snowflake, and Slack
  • Design permission-aware retrieval, source-level authorization, audit trails, provenance capture, prompt-injection defenses, retention and deletion controls, and safe autonomy
  • Evaluate and improve agent behavior using evaluation sets, seller feedback, usage data, and output-quality signals
  • Build evaluation frameworks, regression pipelines, release checks, and escalation paths
  • Own the roadmap and full lifecycle from prototype through production and retirement
  • Monitor performance, usage, quality, latency, and cost; prioritize improvements and resolve reliability issues with partner teams
  • Measure workflow outcomes including intelligence discovery time, asset production effort, provenance, unsupported claims, adoption, response time, cost per request, and accuracy

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production AI workflows using LLM APIs, tool calling, retrieval, structured outputs, and agent workflows
  • Experience designing agent workflows with clear agent boundaries, context and state management, permission-aware tool use, evaluation, observability, failure handling, and human escalation
  • Experience building evaluation frameworks for agent output quality, prompt evaluations, output scoring, and regression testing
  • Experience shipping AI-enabled software used by real users
  • Ability to choose appropriate approaches among deterministic code, workflows, retrieval, single agents, multiple agents, and human review
  • Experience prototyping with users, gathering feedback, and turning successful solutions into documented, reliable production systems
  • Ability to translate workflow needs and feedback from PMMs, sellers, and campaign managers into technical requirements
  • Ability to explain architecture and technical tradeoffs to engineers and translate workflow constraints into decisions with business stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Claude, Codex, Cursor, Dust, LangChain, or LangGraph useful but not required
  • Preferred: knowledge of B2B SaaS marketing and sales workflows
  • Preferred: familiarity with Seismic, Salesforce, Gong, Notion, Snowflake, or Slack APIs
  • Preferred: experience with iPaaS tools and B2B SaaS or enterprise GTM environments
  • Must already be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada; no work authorization, relocation assistance, or sponsorship/transferring of a visa provided
