About the role

  • School bus attendant supporting Airdrie students with disabilities during safe school transportation. Assisting drivers, monitoring behavior, and communicating with guardians.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students on and off the school bus
  • Support the Driver with securements
  • Complete incident reports and daily communication with guardians
  • Assist the Driver in maintaining safety procedures, including emergency evacuations when required
  • Monitor student behavior during transport
  • Maintain a calm, supportive, and safe environment
  • Build trusting relationships with students and guardians
  • Help transport students living with disabilities safely to and from school

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or individuals living with disabilities
  • Monday to Friday availability for both AM and PM shifts (6:30am–9:30am and 1:30pm–4:30pm)
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  • Clean criminal record check
  • Drug test
  • Bonus: valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license
