About the role

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement of HSE performance by implementing corporate management systems and improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct and support comprehensive ergonomic assessments of workstations.
  • Partner with engineering, production, and maintenance to design and improve workstations integrating ergonomic and safety principles.
  • Coach managers and supervisors on their HSE responsibilities while promoting ergonomic best practices.
  • Facilitate risk assessments, monitor action plans, and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations and conduct Root Cause Analyses incorporating human factors into recommendations.
  • Plan and lead continuous improvement projects while monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Support daily administrative documentation to ensure accurate HSE KPI tracking and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Expertise in ergonomics is considered a strong asset.
  • Relevant experience in occupational health and safety within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of Root Cause Analysis methodologies (RCA, 5 Whys, Ishikawa/Fishbone).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and develop practical, sustainable, and measurable solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a unionized environment.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, technical presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and analytical software (e.g., advanced Excel, ergonomic assessment tools, HSE management software).
