About the role

  • Scientific Liaison Agent in gastroenterology at AbbVie, requiring postgraduate degree and 2+ years experience. Engage with healthcare professionals and support clinical projects in a full-time role.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and maintain key scientific knowledge to credibly communicate information to external experts and other healthcare professionals to support the development of professional working relationships.
  • Participate in investigator-initiated studies, clinical trials, and medical projects within the relevant therapeutic area and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Provide scientific support and contribute to maintaining relationships with external experts and academic centers.
  • Deliver credible scientific presentations on various topics to healthcare professionals, individually or in groups.
  • Participate in the targeting process for qualified healthcare professionals with whom AbbVie may engage in collaborative projects (e.g., research or support for conferences/meetings such as advisory boards, congresses, symposiums, etc.) and ensure a high degree of integrity in the scientific or informational content shared within those collaborations.
  • Attend relevant meetings/conferences and prepare summaries of key data presented.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in a scientific field (Pharm.D., Ph.D., or M.D.).
  • Relevant business experience combined with strong knowledge of the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry: experience as a Medical Science Liaison preferred, with at least 2 years of experience ideally.
  • Experience in the therapeutic area is an asset.
  • Experience in a client-facing role within the healthcare industry.
  • Experience presenting and/or interpreting scientific publications or clinical research.
  • Knowledge of scientific methods applied to clinical research and of the legal and regulatory controls currently in force in this area.
  • Strong interest in acquiring and keeping up-to-date in-depth knowledge of the assigned therapeutic area/product and in medical research in general.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Comfortable with technology and using various tools/systems to perform daily tasks.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
