Responsibilities
Join AbbVie Canada's commercial sales team as an Oncology Therapeutic Specialist
Focus on oncologists treating hematological malignancies
Develop robust business plans to execute brand strategy and field tactics
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations to improve sales performance
Handle objections and concerns using a logical, rational approach to close sales calls
Support key stakeholders' needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships
Execute call plans, achieve set metrics, and optimize coverage of key customers
Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, and clinical expertise
Share market intelligence with the district manager and team members to align strategy and anticipate environmental changes
Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with healthcare providers
Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
Support short- and long-term sales performance while centering patient needs and complying with AbbVie's code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws
Travel approximately 30% overnight for ongoing territory management
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing or equivalent
Minimum of three to five years in a Specialty Sales role with a strong clinical background within the pharmaceutical industry
Oncology experience in hematology a strong asset
In-depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge in hematology-oncology and the Canadian Hematological Oncology sector required
Physician/account-based selling, CHE/educational/training, medical, managed health care or marketing experience preferred
Hospital network skills are imperative
Proven track record in sales and solid presentation skills
Strong ability to proactively identify customer style / behavior and quickly adapt all aspects of selling approach
In-depth scientific, hematology product and competitive knowledge
Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities
Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
Ability to offer innovative ideas and solutions and anticipate and respond to changes or challenges
Collaborative partnership skills with district colleagues and team
Documented success in leadership and support roles of increased responsibility
English language proficiency (oral and written); French an asset
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
Must be at ease with technology and various tools/systems
Ability to work evenings/weekends from time to time, including overnight travel
Valid driver's license and passport
Ability to think strategically and develop high-quality territory and account plans
Sound business judgment and executive leadership mindset
Ability to predict contingent outcomes from customer and competitive perspectives
