Responsibilities
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
Create pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluations to improve sales performance
Handle objections and concerns during face-to-face and virtual sales calls
Support stakeholders’ needs and build trusted customer relationships
Execute call plans and optimize coverage of key customers
Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, and clinical expertise
Share market intelligence with the district manager and team members
Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts, speakers, and advocates
Work collaboratively in a cross-functional matrix team with medical, market access, government affairs, health education, marketing, trade relations, patient engagement, and AbbVie Care teams
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Commerce, or equivalent
Minimum of three to five years in a Specialty Sales role within the pharmaceutical industry
Gynecology experience preferred
Gastroenterology experience is an asset
Established relationships with existing healthcare provider targets are an asset
Physician/account-based selling, CHE / OLA / training, managed health care, or marketing experience preferred
Proven sales track record and solid presentation skills, both face-to-face and virtually
Experience with IntelAgree, DEVO, CTE/Concur, or Veeva is an asset
Strong ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt the selling approach
In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools
Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
Documented success in leadership and support roles of increased responsibility
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Veeva Engage/CLM
Ability to work evenings/weekends from time to time, including overnight travel
Willingness to travel 50% within the territory
Valid driver’s license and passport
