About the role

  • Engineering Manager leading Platform Integration team responsible for seamless API integrations at Achievers. Overseeing a highly technical group focusing on distributed systems and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of high impact integration capabilities, including APIs, webhooks, event streams and workflow orchestration.
  • Translate product and platform strategy into executable technical roadmaps and quarterly objectives.
  • Ensure our integration surfaces (APIs, pipelines, adapters) are secure, well documented, highly reliable, and optimized for enterprise scale.
  • Collaborate with external technology partners to build and maintain efficient bidirectional data flows.
  • Ensure SLIs/SLOs for integration related services are met through robust monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices.
  • Build, coach, and mentor a team of backend and integration engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, psychological safety, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS), and event-driven architectures.
  • 6+ years in backend or platform engineering in a senior capacity with at least 2+ years in an engineering leadership/management role.
  • Deep hand-on experience building and scaling API-driven platforms, microservices, and integration systems (REST, gRPC, webhooks, event streams).
  • Experience leading projects/teams responsible for external partner integrations, API ecosystems, platform infrastructure, or data synchronization.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with cross-functional partners, executives, and external entities.
