Responsibilities
Lead the development and modernization of in-house civil/structural engineering and drafting capabilities aligned with long-term OEM strategy.
Ensure optimal department sizing, including workforce planning to meet current and future project demands.
Drive succession planning, talent development, and knowledge transfer across the organization.
Promote a strong nuclear safety culture based on INPO standards and ensure robust training and qualification programs.
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
Oversee Technical Managers, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and implementation of performance metrics to improve team effectiveness.
Strengthen relationships with customers and stakeholders through active engagement, industry representation, and support of STEM and brand initiatives.
Manage operational and technical functions, including budgets, resource planning, engineering governance, quality assurance, and development of best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineer (P.Eng) licensed in Canada and/or the U.S., in good standing.
Minimum 16 years of engineering experience, including design, leadership, and nuclear site project exposure.
Strong knowledge of nuclear plant systems, operations, regulatory frameworks, and applicable codes/standards (including National Building Code of Canada).
Proficiency in 3D drafting and structural analysis tools (e.g., SmartPlant 3D) and seismic analysis for nuclear applications.
Established credibility and professional network within the nuclear industry, especially with CANDU stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in high-performance environments.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, mentoring, and project planning capabilities.
Experience in talent management, succession planning, hiring, and willingness to travel, with security clearance eligibility required.
