About the role

Allstate Canada claims consultant handling complex Ontario Accident Benefits injury claims remotely. Investigating, negotiating, and settling first-party injury claims while coordinating with claimants, vendors, medical professionals, and lawyers.

Responsibilities

Interpret insurance policy wording, determine policy coverages, and set reserves on Accident Benefit claims
Investigate, negotiate, and settle accident benefits claims by telephone, in person, and/or written correspondence
Comply with Allstate policies, procedures, best practices, legislative, and regulatory requirements
Ensure files are thoroughly documented
Settle claims within personal authority and follow company guidelines for claims exceeding personal authority
Set and define customer service expectations
Take ownership and accountability to solve customer problems
Maintain a caseload reflective of a Claim Advisor, Accident Benefits
Communicate professionally with claimants, vendors, medical professionals, and lawyers
Collaborate with Accident Benefit Adjusters and Claims Assistants

A minimum of 2 years relevant Ontario Accident Benefits experience outside the MIG
Completion of CIP designation or desire to pursue is preferred
Prior insurance experience and knowledge in injury claims, medical rehabilitation concepts, and medical terminology is preferred
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong critical thinking skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of claims
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to providing outstanding customer service
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
