Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-performance application software for our cloud-native platform, aligning with business goals.
- Drive the evolution of our micro-services and APIs, taking ownership of architecture and technical decisions to enhance functionality and customer impact.
- Work independently and collaboratively to deliver impactful features, ensuring high-quality delivery while managing team dynamics and timelines.
- Build and lead end-to-end features across cloud, web, and mobile infrastructure, ensuring smooth integration and cohesive technical direction.
- Leverage open-source technologies and advocate for open standards, balancing innovation with long-term maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Science, Product, DevOps) to align technical direction, prioritize features, and refine customer solutions.
- Contribute to technical documentation and best practices, fostering knowledge sharing to support team growth and continuous improvement.
- Experiment with new technologies and rapid feedback loops to drive innovation, keeping the team on the cutting edge.
- Drive Agile development to ensure efficient execution, high-quality deliverables, and continuous iteration.
- Establish coding standards, design patterns, and technical practices to maintain consistency and quality across projects.
- Manage team alignment and execution, tracking progress and adjusting priorities to meet project goals.
- Champion a high-performance engineering culture, promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in taking a feature from concept to delivery and support.
- Working knowledge of Javascript/NodeJS, React and Python.
- Working knowledge of React frameworks like NextJS and the concept of server side rendering.
- Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds.
- Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with non-relational data stores such as MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.
- Experience with SQL based database systems such as SQL Server, Snowflake, etc.
- Experience with cloud computing, specifically AWS.
- BS/MS in engineering, computer science, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven leadership experience, mentoring and guiding teams to success while delivering impactful solutions.
