About the role
- Graduate Project Engineer improving North American client productivity, delivering high-quality electrical and control engineering projects. Auditing facilities, designing systems, and working on innovative engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades;
- Design industrial MV and LV electrical power systems, including electrical room design, equipment specifications, motor control and grounding systems, and cable and raceway sizing and layouts;
- Perform protection and control systems design and settings;
- Complete electrical control and instrumentation system design including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems;
- Design, program and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications;
- Perform system checkout, testing, and commissioning;
- Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and other supporting documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Experience in industrial automation engineering an asset
- Experience in pulp & paper; mining and/or chemical industries an asset
- Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven but still able to work effectively in a team
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (English)
- Registered as an EIT in British Columbia
- Practical knowledge of North American standards
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%).
