About the role

  • Traffic Coordinator coordinating global pharmaceutical shipments, customs documentation, and freight forwarders for Apotex. Maintaining SAP records and improving cost-effective logistics processes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal and external customers to provide consultation and advice on the global movement of goods, materials and samples
  • Generate, coordinate, review and file transportation documentation
  • Identify and escalate issues to senior coordinators and management
  • Coordinate shipment documents, scheduling and status notifications with internal departments and customers
  • Follow up proactively on critical and high-priority shipments and provide visibility to internal stakeholders
  • Educate and coach internal stakeholders on traffic processes and shipment requirements
  • Communicate with freight forwarders and brokers to coordinate shipment instructions and investigate irregularities
  • Provide detailed timelines for traffic investigations
  • Participate in long-term planning, technology investigations and traffic process improvements
  • Recommend economical traffic patterns and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain customer profiles and shipping instructions in SAP and related databases
  • Create and maintain internal Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
  • Ensure shipments have required documentation and oversee the shipment process using internal and external systems
  • Update the skill database according to role competencies
  • Perform work in accordance with regulatory, compliance and safety requirements
  • Collaborate as a team member and demonstrate Apotex organizational values
  • Ensure adherence to business ethics, quality, safety, environment and HR policies
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned

Requirements

  • College or University in a related Logistics discipline
  • FITT, APICS, CITT or P. Log an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented and accurate when processing documentation
  • Proactive, positive, enthusiastic and self-driven
  • Working knowledge of shipping documentation requirements
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the transportation/customs and logistics industry
