Principal Engineer specializing in sustainable highway design and 3D modeling for Arcadis projects. Leading project teams and overseeing all phases of road and highway development.
Responsibilities
Principal Engineer (Canada Highways) - Design and 3D modelling for Design & Build and Highway projects with proficiency in various Autodesk/Bentley tools as mentioned in Mandatory Technical Skills.
Managing multiple projects (or components of projects) for road and highway design team.
Managing small teams ensuring the production and verification of analysis and design, including drawings and reports, relating to projects.
Taking responsibility for technical resource allocation, quality assurance and client feedback and ensuring effective communication of any changes/ modifications.
Proactively engaging with various Arcadis Regional offices/ teams regarding safe design requirements, and flag risks at appropriate levels.
Resolving issues and create strong relationships with project colleagues in the regions, evidenced through great feedback.
Developing technical methodologies which add value to the scope from other Arcadis Regions, and guiding junior colleagues to do the same.
Reviewing work and drive the culture of checking and accountability in the team, including interdisciplinary checks.
Liaising and assisting the project manager to ensure commercial aspects relating to the design team can achieve a successful result. Developing plans and budgets for medium-size and / or complex tasks and monitor progress against these.
Identifying opportunities and driving implementation of re-engineering strategies to maximize the value of design input.
Leading collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
Providing technical advice to project team members and Canada Team.
Handle multiple management responsibilities, overseeing the work and / or development of multiple colleagues working on complex projects in a single discipline.
Design Health & Safety management for the project works.
Requirements
Education - Graduation - B.Tech/B.E. – Civil or Post Graduation - M.Tech – Highway Engineering/Transportation engineering or Civil.
Minimum 15+ years of experience in a Design Consulting Environment.
Delivered at least four major projects for the Canada/ US region in a lead role.
Strong understanding of Design codes & Standard Construction Practices.
Achieved/ Started the Chartered or Incorporated Engineer professional status, or equivalent.
Software – Civil 3D, Open Roads, AutoCAD or MIcrostation, Infraworks and Navisworks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English), including technical report writing.
Should have Project Management experience.
Organized and proactive (self-starter).
