Roadway Illumination and Traffic Signal Engineer designing for transportation facilities. Preparing intersection design Drawings, Estimates, Specifications, and Proposals in Ontario.
Responsibilities
The primary focus is Traffic Signal and/or Roadway Lighting design for transportation facilities
Work with technical staff to prepare preliminary, and detailed traffic/intersection design Drawings, Estimates, Specifications, and Proposals
Assist in preparing reports as to the nature, status and results of design or study assignments
Contribute to the successful design, production, coordination and management of Roadway Illumination and Traffic Signal projects
Coordinate with Utility and Roadway agencies on Technical fronts
Develop traffic signal/intersection and roadway illumination designs in AutoCAD and/or Microstation
Assist developing deliverables such as wiring diagrams, power calculations, and Electrical Engineering designs compliant with standards
Render utility coordination duties related to roadway illumination and traffic signal projects
Verify or validate Engineering deliverables comply with applicable regulations, standards, and corporate procedures
Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information
Requirements
Completed Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Traffic/Civil Engineering
3+ years relevant experience in intersection/traffic signal design
Must have or be eligible for the P. Eng. designation in Ontario
Proficient with AutoCAD and Microstation
Proficient with AGI 32
Working knowledge of Ontario Traffic Manuals (Book 12, 15, 5, & 7)
Experience with O.Reg 22/04 certification and liaising with utility authorities
Experience performing site inspections, construction supervision and contract administration
MTO Major Electrical RAQS qualified is an asset
Experience working on MTO Roadway Lighting projects
