About the role
- Senior Engineer leading design and integration of railway signaling for commuter rail, LRT, and subway projects in Canada and USA. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize rail operations and comply with standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and integration of railway signaling systems for commuter rail, LRT, subway and heavy rail projects across Canada and USA
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams including track, power, and communications specialists
- Plan, develop, and conduct factory and site acceptance testing
- Prepare technical documentation including design reports, test plans, as-built records, and maintenance manuals
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to deliver project objectives on time and according to specifications
- Identify and implement opportunities for system and process optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
- P. Eng designation in Ontario, BC, or Alberta
- 10+ years of relevant experience in rail signaling engineering (heavy and/or light rail), including design, installation, and commissioning
- Familiarity with signaling principles, system architectures, and applicable standards (e.g., CENELEC, AREMA)
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and using design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Bentley Rail Track)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
