About the role

  • AI and Cloud Architect designing and implementing cloud-native solutions for North America's leading brands. Collaborating on AI-enabled projects with teams based in Canada and Poland.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement solution architectures that satisfy client requirements, with a strong focus on AI-enabled and cloud-native applications.
  • Design AI-enabled workflows such as chatbots, search, summarization, and automation.
  • Leverage RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), agentic AI patterns, vector databases, and enterprise search in applied solutions.
  • Orchestrate multi-service AI solutions that combine LLMs, APIs, and cloud services.
  • Guide clients and teams through cloud modernization projects, supporting migrations and adoption of cloud-native practices.
  • Understand data security and residency requirements, addressing client concerns around sensitive data in AI-enabled systems.
  • Ensure solutions comply with security and regulatory standards while managing technical risks across architectures.
  • Support Services teams during delivery by addressing architectural questions as projects evolve and refining designs when new requirements or complexities emerge.
  • Build prototypes and participate in demos with clients to showcase how AI and cloud can add value.
  • Create solution diagrams and architectures for client decks to support pre-sales discussions.
  • Partner with clients in pre-sales support: participate in meetings, capture requirements, and collaborate with the sales lead.
  • Communicate architectural decisions clearly to both business and technical audiences.
  • Balance functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Support scoping and estimation for solutions across multiple industries, validating requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with technical leads, developers, designers, strategists, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Leverage Architech’s cloud and technology partners to strengthen solution proposals.
  • Work directly with mid-sized and enterprise clients, ensuring solutions align to their scale, security, and business needs.
  • Embrace and contribute to the achievement of Architech’s sustainability goals relating to Good Health & Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equity, and Reduced Inequalities.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience designing and delivering software solutions
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience designing AI-enabled workflows (chatbots, search, summarization, automation)
  • Knowledge of RAG, agentic AI patterns, vector databases, and enterprise search
  • Experience orchestrating multi-service AI solutions
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native design and modern architectural patterns
  • Experience guiding organizations through cloud modernization initiatives, from legacy migrations to greenfield cloud adoption
  • Solid understanding and experience with containers and orchestration (Kubernetes preferred)
  • Solid understanding and experience with data integration concerns, and platforms such as Apache Kafka, ActiveMQ, or RabbitMQ
  • Experience working with major cloud platforms (Azure and GCP strongly preferred, AWS an asset)
  • Ability to integrate AI services into solutions using platforms like Azure AI, Google Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, or third-party APIs
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major programming language (Java, .NET, Python, JavaScript, or Go)
  • Knowledge of automation principles (CI/CD, infrastructure as code)
  • Strong awareness of monitoring, logging, and security in cloud-based environments.
  • Excellent communication skills: able to support client-facing discussions with confidence, without needing to lead them.
  • Team-first mentality, able to collaborate across disciplines without direct management responsibilities.
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements and evolving AI technologies.
  • Curiosity for AI and eagerness to learn as the industry shifts and new capabilities emerge.
  • Practical experience with Agile methodologies.
