About the role

  • Senior Pattern Maker collaborating with Design team from concept to pre-production. Based in North Vancouver, this role involves technical pattern creation for outdoor products.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Design team, from maker phase (concepts) through to pre-production phase (approved to counter sample), creating patterns to design intent which meet Arc’teryx quality, fit and construction standards.
  • Work on the most technical and complex products; lead by example and provide overall support and mentoring to the Pattern Makers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Developers, Designers, and others to craft and develop best-in-class ideas and bring technical products to life.

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience as a Pattern Maker
  • An undergraduate degree, or the equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience
  • Solid knowledge of Gerber Accumark tools, or the equivalent digital patterning program
  • Solid knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience patterning technical outdoor products
  • Knowledge of grading
  • Ability to work from pattern blocks or from sketches
  • Knowledge of garment construction
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Effective English skills in both verbal and written communications
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
  • Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • Effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
