About the role
- Senior Pattern Maker collaborating with Design team from concept to pre-production. Based in North Vancouver, this role involves technical pattern creation for outdoor products.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Design team, from maker phase (concepts) through to pre-production phase (approved to counter sample), creating patterns to design intent which meet Arc’teryx quality, fit and construction standards.
- Work on the most technical and complex products; lead by example and provide overall support and mentoring to the Pattern Makers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Developers, Designers, and others to craft and develop best-in-class ideas and bring technical products to life.
Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience as a Pattern Maker
- An undergraduate degree, or the equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience
- Solid knowledge of Gerber Accumark tools, or the equivalent digital patterning program
- Solid knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
- Experience patterning technical outdoor products
- Knowledge of grading
- Ability to work from pattern blocks or from sketches
- Knowledge of garment construction
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Effective English skills in both verbal and written communications
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
