Senior Pattern Maker collaborating with Design team from concept to pre-production. Based in North Vancouver, this role involves technical pattern creation for outdoor products.
Responsibilities
Partner with the Design team, from maker phase (concepts) through to pre-production phase (approved to counter sample), creating patterns to design intent which meet Arc’teryx quality, fit and construction standards.
Work on the most technical and complex products; lead by example and provide overall support and mentoring to the Pattern Makers.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Developers, Designers, and others to craft and develop best-in-class ideas and bring technical products to life.
Requirements
7+ years’ experience as a Pattern Maker
An undergraduate degree, or the equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience
Solid knowledge of Gerber Accumark tools, or the equivalent digital patterning program
Solid knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
Experience patterning technical outdoor products
Knowledge of grading
Ability to work from pattern blocks or from sketches
Knowledge of garment construction
Strong organizational and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Effective English skills in both verbal and written communications
Strong interpersonal skills
Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
