About the role
- Merchandise Planner optimizing SKU forecasts, inventory, and Open-to-Buy planning for Article’s furniture business. Driving profitable product availability through data-backed cross-functional planning.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end planning cycle for assigned categories
- Develop and maintain precise SKU-level demand forecasts across all channels
- Reconcile top-down category financial goals with bottom-up SKU plans
- Execute Open-to-Buy (OTB) planning aligned with merchandising and financial strategies
- Manage stock levels to balance product availability and inventory risks
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and performance drivers
- Track and report sell-through, inventory turn, and forecast precision KPIs
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to Category Managers
- Partner with Sourcing and Order Management on vendor capacity and production planning
- Identify and drive process automation and workflow improvements
- Collaborate with Category Management, Sourcing, Order Management, and Finance in a hybrid team
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in merchandise planning, demand planning, or merchandising
- Strong proficiency in Retail Math, Open-to-Buy (OTB) execution, and pre-season planning concepts
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Experience with enterprise planning and analytics tools such as SAP IBP, Blue Yonder/JDA, John Galt, Anaplan, and Tableau
- Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Data-driven decision-making and structured analysis
- Ability to influence internal stakeholders and cross-functional partners
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize independently in a fast-paced environment
- Legally able to work in Canada
- Completion of criminal background check
