About the role
- Technicien senior réalisant des relevés hydrométriques, bathymétriques et de qualité de l’eau. AtkinsRéalis fournit des services d’ingénierie et de construction pour les infrastructures canadiennes.
Responsibilities
- Plan, lead and conduct aquatic field surveys (bathymetry, hydrometry, water and sediment quality, instrument installation, etc.)
- Process and analyze collected data
- Prepare service proposals, environmental study reports and sampling protocols
- Participate in business development opportunities and the department’s research and development activities
- Contribute to the management, maintenance and preparation of the equipment fleet
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan and conduct aquatic and marine surveys
- Contribute to aquatic or marine research and development projects
- Travel as required to prepare equipment at the Boucherville warehouse and conduct field surveys
Requirements
- 12–15 years of experience
- College diploma in environmental technology, civil engineering or an equivalent discipline OR bachelor’s degree in physical geography or civil engineering
- Field experience in aquatic environments, including launching and operating boats
- Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
- Availability to travel throughout Quebec and elsewhere in Canada
- Ability to solve technical problems and manage unforeseen situations
- Initiative and resourcefulness
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Technical curiosity and willingness to learn
- Rigor, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Pleasure Craft Operator Card (an asset)
- First aid and shoreline safety training (an asset)
