About the role

  • Senior Bridge Engineer leading bridges and structural engineering projects at AtkinsRéalis in Canada. Collaborating and guiding teams for various complex engineering projects across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a structural design team for a variety of multi-disciplinary projects
  • Apply advanced engineering techniques and tools for solution of complex engineering challenges
  • Direct, coach, support and guide employees (engineers and technicians) assigned to projects
  • Advise management and collaborate with other disciplines
  • Prepare proposals and participate in business development including publications and conferences
  • Prepare structural designs and evaluations, and contract packages for ATEC, City of Calgary and other key Clients
  • Provide construction support and perform site visits as needed on active construction projects

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably with a Structural major)
  • Registered as Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with APEGA
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various types of bridge and transportation structures
  • Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects
  • Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) Code
  • Proficient in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS and Microsoft Office applications
