About the role
- Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist at a forensic engineering firm in Halifax. Responsible for overseeing environmental investigations and liaising with clients.
Responsibilities
- Review and sign-off on technical reports
- Direct the site activities of field staff
- Liaise directly with clients on a file-by-file basis
- Complete hydrogeological and environmental site investigations
- Oversee remediation activities, primarily on environmental spills and contaminated sites
- Work in cooperation with project managers across the country
- Assist field staff to problem solve and maintain the highest level of professional standards
- Accept responsibility for the overall quality of remedial work completed by field staff
- Provide mentorship for junior staff
Requirements
- Environmental Science, Geology, Geological Engineering or Environmental Engineering Degree from a recognized university, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of related operational experience preferred
- 3+ years insurance industry experience an asset
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent report writing abilities
- Proficiencies with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Provides accurate information and creative solutions for customers while taking ownership of decisions
